What I Made Wednesday {Paying It Backward Teacher's Gift}

It's always nice to visit the previous teacher when the kids go in and meet their new teachers. It's important to remember those teachers who got you to where you are today, not just the teachers that will get you to where you are going this year.

What You'll Need
Mason Jar
Ribbon
Mod Podge
Brush
Hole punch
Caramel Corn recipe, click here
Printable for back-to-school, click here

What You'll Do
Gluing tags back to back using Mod Podge.
We filled this cute mason jar with LOVD's famous Caramel Corn recipe, click here to view. I used this cute and free printable from Katie of Sweet Rose Studio. Adorable, no? I glued two of the tags back to back to make it more substantial and stiff. Hole punch through the tag and wrap your filled mason jar with ribbon going through the tag. Voila! Ready to give!

Hole punch for the ribbon.

What You'll Need to Know to Finish
Visit last year's teacher and thank profusely, promising never to forget last year's fun as you look forward to this year's new adventures. I think you'd be surprised how many teachers appreciate when you pay it backward.

You are such a thoughtful lady. Great example as a mother. A blessing to your sons teachers. And, who doesn't enjoy caramel corn!

I'm so making this, Lilly. You have saved me from having to brainstorm. Wish you were my neighbor. Tomorrow's post is all for you.

This is such a sweet idea, Lilly.
As a teacher, I can tell you that this would absolutely make my day -with or without the tasty treat! I wish there were more parents like you in the schools where I have worked!

Claire, thanks so much for commenting! I am really shocked that this small token of appreciation for our former teachers is surprising and unusual. Truly, you teachers do not get the credit your really deserve. Thank you, Claire, for all you do for your students. I can truly sense your dedication to the profession. If I was near you, I'd make one for you, too!!! Extra caramel corn:-)

As a teacher, I can't express enough how much I adore this idea. It is fabulous. I am so connected to all of my former students. Each and every one of them holds a special place in my "teaching heart". I have to pin this now....

Hi,
You asked a question at my blog Adorned From Above about the blog button, and I wanted to make sure that got you and answer. I posted this on my blog also.

The picture has to have a url. It needs to be online somewhere, I'm sure you could use it from flikr or anything online. I couldn't load it from my desk top. I did set up my email in photobucket, so that I could use it. I will talk to my son tomorrow and ask him if there is some other way to get a url for a picture. He is my photography guru, and I'll let you know.

As a daughter, sister, niece, and granddaughter of oh-so-many teachers, I have to say this is a truly thoughtful and fantastic idea.

My daughter's just starting school, but I'll have to remember this next fall!

I love the idea of paying it backward. We loved my son's kindergarten teacher last year. I've been sad that he can't keep her! I'm sure both of my kid's teachers would be thrilled by this! Thanks for sharing at our Weekend Wonders party! Hope to see you again tomorrow!!
